HTC has announced its new Touch Diamond today at a press event in London. The new touchscreen smartphone features the latest update of HTC Touch 3D interface (codenamed HTC Manila), designed to make Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional more finger-friendly, which was also showcased officially for the first time today. The highlight of the new HTC Touch 3D user interface will be the web capabilities - smart desktop-like rendering and superb touch navigation through web pages and hyperlinks.

Vodafone announced they have signed an agreement with Apple to sell the controversial handset in as many as 10 countries where Voda have coverage. Those countries include Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey.

The Nokia N96 is the latest in Nokia’s N-series line up. It has the familiar dual slide design from the N95, but this is a TV and video focussed mobile device. As such it is not a replacement for the N95, although it does share many of its attributes and features and is, of course, a very high-end handset.

The Nokia N96 was revealed at the 2008 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and stands as “The Most Feature Packed Smartphone” announced to date. Though the Nokia N96 follows the dual-sliding N95 basic form factor, it adds a pair of gaming keys to the multimedia cluster on extra slide panel that can be used for N-Gage games. A 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and Carl Zeiss lenses is accentuated by a dual LED flash that can also function as a video recording light.

The recently announced Nokia N82 is an impressively specified device. With a 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, S60 software suite and WiFi, Bluetooth and 3.5G connectivity it boasts a feature set to match the flagship Nokia N95 8GB.
