Folks, please welcome the newly announced Motorola W7 Active Edition. With better looks and black color, this 3G-enabled slide phone is designed and built for sporty active people, which packed with plenty features to match their active lifestyle.

The earlier leak of it was .. well .. i don’t know .. most people said that it was an ugly phone with bad choice of color. And i’m completely agree with them. When i saw it at it’s first leak, i said “God, this is the ugliest smartphone i’ve ever seen“. Well, duh .. what’s with the color, man? And the design itself, its just weird, you know? But now, i myself must say, am impressed. It looks much better, great actually. Like the gsmarena team said, the ugliness is no longer its key features.

Back to the device, it measures 49mm x 99mm x 15mm and weigh 105g, sports a 2.2″ QVGA display, a 2MP camera and a front facing camera for video calls, microSD expansion slot (up to 8GB), FM Radio, Bluetooth with A2DP support, and ofcourse it support 3G networks for fast data transfer (though it would be great if it support HSDPA, just like the other smartphone currently on market). The built-in accelerometer makes the Motorola W7 more fun to use.

For example, in use of it’s music player, flipping the phone over will pause the music, on an incoming call it will mute the phone, and also snooze the alarm. More functions can be done with other gestures like shaking and flicking it. Really, its fun. And ah, the fitness application ofcourse, the Personal Trainer, make this phone even more greater for those who loves a healthy active lifestyle.

The Motorola W7 Active Edition will hit the shelves in Q2 in Asia and Latin America, in few color choice – Black, Licorice, and Alpine White. Still no words on pricing or exact launch date yet.
