The Nokia N93i is an excellent evolution of the original N93; much slimmer in size, lighter weight, and more attractive in design, with a large mirror-like screen, silver-black colors and framings.
The camera housing still rules the top of the device, but it’s thinner and been stylishly redesigned.
Some more changes on the Nokia N93i are:
- The D-pad is replaced by a joystick (in camera mode)
- The main speaker moved to the base unit.
- Redesigned card-slot cover, more secure.
- Tethered pop-port connector cover.
- New designed battery-cover is much easier to open and attach.
- SIM card recess
- Lanyard mount recess
- Charging LED placed under the top-mirror.
The Nokia N93i packed with a 16 million colors — the original N93’s screen only supports to display 262k colors — which make the colors look more vibrant and accurate. Users will enjoy this amazing screen since it will be used as the viewfinder to the camera, as well as viewing the photos and videos.
And the camera itself is pretty much the same with the one on the N93 — in hardware terms, but ofcourse with some improvement. Focus presets, lighting modes, optical zoom, along with other features and options are present.
While the video recording is also the same — VGA quality 640×480 pixel resolution at 30fps — the Nokia N93i added with a new ‘Continuous Auto Focus’ feature.
In terms of software and UI, it’s also similar with the N93. Standar S60 3rd-edition with some tweaks like landscape-mode support, bigger free RAM, Wi-fi with UPnP support, Quickoffice, TV-out supported by the upgraded graphic-chips, and more. Powered by a new 950mAh BL-5F.
