Bad news for Sony Ericsson fans - the long rumored Sony Ericsson P5 (codenamed Paris) and Sony Ericsson G702 (codenamed Beibei) smartphones have been cancelled. There is the suggestion that both of these handsets were cancelled due to a large volume of criticism from reviewers and other industry watchers. Some critics of the unannounced Sony Ericsson P5 claimed its specs are too inadequate to stand up to competing smartphones. Outdated before even released.

The Sony Ericsson G702 (codenamed Beibei) has also cancelled for rather unknown reasons. There was some criticism against it too - mainly due to its looks, but still it remained a capable smartphone with touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS receiver.

The story doesn’t end there because we are hearing that whilst Paris and the Beibei may have been cancelled in Europe, they might still make an appearance in Asia.
