The Business Series Smartphone Nokia E51

The E series — the business series – a wide range of business handsets with different form factors, optimized for any kind of business users.

And the new Nokia E51 is a perfect combination of rich communication features and a compact-stylish design with comfortable keys based on a nice symbian S60 user interface.

The first impressions on this device are on its slim body, at only 12mm, the Nokia E51 is perfectly built for business people. Aside with the Nokia E90, we’ll see the extreme differential between the two. Well, yeah ofcourse.

The Nokia E51’s case is main built from metal materials just like the the Nokia E90, with chrome framing and back cover, feels solid and looks like it would take drops without damages which is quite important to survive the busy daily life.

If we look closer, or well, just by looking at them, we’ll see that both of the Nokia E51 and E90 display seems identical in terms of dimension, reflectivity, brightnest and contrast. All of us should congratulate Nokia for making such a nice transflective display which works pefectly great even in a brightest sunlight.

On the left side of the Nokia E51, we’ll see the rubberized volume rocker, voice recording, and voice tag keys. Some reviewers said that these keys are so hard that they had to press the keys using a hammer! No, guys. I’m just kidding. But yes, those volume keys are quite hard to press, unfortunately.

And the D-pad is a good news, along with the clustered keys around it. They’re clicky and easy to use. On this front panel, users will meet the Contacts, Calendar, Messaging, and the Home keys which are used as a shortcut.

The 12-numeric keypads are actually feels great in fingers and easy to use, again, they’re similar with the one on the E90. Texting without looking at the keypads should be pretty easy and fun. Steve from AllAboutSymbian gives 10 out of 10 for this nice keypad. Well, i myself totally agree with him .

The camera on the back of Nokia E51 is just a-good-to-have, it’s only 2 megapixel and no autofocus nor a flash, there’s nothing special here. But it’s very understandable, since it’s not the main focus of the Nokia E51.

Turning on the Nokia E51 for the first time will show us some updates on the standard E-series UI. We’ll see the ‘Set-up Voice Mail’ – ‘Set-up Email’ – ‘Set-up Internet Telephony” shortcut on the home screen, which will lead the us to the appropriate settings and steps. These icons will dissapear after we complete the steps.

And also, a new addition to the features is the audio themes, which is actually a sound-effects for common events. Some people might find this appealing, though personally i think it’s kind of pointless.

Multimedia features are similar with the E90, again; including FM radio, Mp4 playback support, H.264 codecs, etc. If you look back at the home screen-shot, you’ll see the W-Lan Scan icon. Yep, you guys are correct. The Nokia E51 packed with a Wi-Fi, which is something not always given in every device.

There’s more! a GPS which works with the Nokia Maps, supported by the HSPDA connection. What’s more is, this amazingly feature-packed slim device is powered by a powerful battery with an amazing battery life, the 1050mAh BP-6MT. Promising the Nokia E51 more than a full week of standby time.
