Okay now, most of the rumors we’ve heard before about the new iPhone are true. It’s been officially announced, and it’s called iPhone 3GS. And the S stands for Speed, fyi. This new iPhone 3GS actually looks pretty much the same with the iPhone 3G, but now it’s armed with a 3 megapixel autofocus camera that also capable to record VGA videos at 30 fps, and added with a built-in compass.
Stick around, guys. There will more detailed upgrades right after the official video-ad below.
The new 3 megapixel camera is improved for for low-light photo shoot, and also upgraded with macro mode which is great for close-up shot as close as 10cm. To simply edit and trim the recorded videos, the iPhone 3GS is added with an easy-to-use video editor application. It’s nice, actually.
New addition to the feature list – the voice dial. Though it’s not the first one ever, but it’s a good one to have. A long press on the home button will automatically launch the voice command application.
The compass application is integrated with Google Maps. And the accessibility option will read then speak (or shout?) out-loudly on any text we point at.
The iPhone 3GS will securely protect users’ personal data with the hardware encryption. It’s also pre-installed with the RemoteWipe application, just in case users lost their iPhone or it get stolen. A new service called ‘Find my iPhone’ will help users who forgot or misplaced their iPhone, by logging into MobileMe.
The battery is also improved a bit, promising 12hours of 2G call, 30hours of music playback and 10hours on videos, while the standby time and 3G talk time are still the same.
The iPhone 3GS will hit the shelves and start selling in 19 June 2009; from USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UK and will expand to 80 countries worldwide. The iPhone 3GS will be yours for US$199 for the 16GB version and US$299 for the 32GB version, available in black and white colors. Still interested in the original iPhone 3G? They will be yours now for only US$99 for the 8GB version.
